2018 Lexus RX Review

Lexus has made a lot of changes to the fourth generation its RX model and now bringing all-new 2018 Lexus RX. The new model is more polished and possesses more sharp and refreshing looks with fine curves and creases. It provides premium comfort and is versatile like an SUV. The new Lexus RX will be available in two variants Lexus RX 350 and Lexus RX 450h

2018 Lexus RX 350 Changes, Exterior

The exterior of the new 2018 RX has more bold and prominent features. The LED headlights are redesigned and now are in L shaped featuring three L shaped elements on each headlight. The LED taillights are enfolded in the rear fenders and they are also in L shape. It also features a new spindle grille which is surrounded by the chrome finish. The exterior of the new Lexus RX is enhanced with self-restoring coating of special scratch resistant paint colors. The blacked out C pillars create a floating roof design with sleek curve and cues. And guess what? the new Lexus will be running on 20 inches wheels which are available in three different designs. What’s more a car lover wants?

Lexus RX 2018 Interior

The interior of the new Lexus RX 2018 is luxurious and the cabin feels spacious with ample head and legroom. The instrument panel is designed uniquely and projects the key information as a head-up display on the screen. The dashboard is in horizontal shape with the slight curve and features some pretty impressive wooden, matte and metallic trims. The F Sports trim is furnished with the exclusive satin brushed aluminum trim, whereas the Luxury and Premium Package owners will get wooden finish cabin. The front and rear seats are comfortable and the rear seat can be split and fold flat to create enough cargo space.

The 2018 RX 350 caters 8 inches screen with nice speakers to provide high audio quality. There is available 12.3 inches high resolutions screen. It also has HD radio, 2 USB ports Scout GPS link, voice recognition feature plus Bluetooth audio. The premium Mark Levinson Surround System with 15 speakers is also available as an option for all RX models. All variants will also get Enform telematics system.

Safety features

The new Lexus RX is equipped with a safety suite which is standard on all variants. The suite has following features:
• Lane departure warning with steering assist
• Pedestrian detection
• Automatic Emergency Braking
• Automatic High Beams
• Forward Collision Warning
• Rearview Camera
• Lane Keeping Assist
Two more features are also available as the option, i.e. Rear cross traffic alert and Blind spot warning.


Both variants of the new RX will come with different engine options. The 2018 Lexus RX RX 350 will have a 3.5-liter V6 engine which is able to generate 295 horsepower and a torque of 267 pounds-feet. The engine is mated to eight-speed automatic transmission and will be available in both AWD and FWD system. For front wheel drive its fuel efficiency is rated at 20/27/23 mpg and for the all-wheel drive, the fuel efficiency is rated at 19/26/22 mpg.

The 2018 Lexus RX RX 450h is having a 3.5-liter D4 S injection V6 gas engine which is paired with 2 electric motors. The duo is able to produce an output of 308 horsepower. It is available on AWD system only.

Price and Release date

The new Lexus RX will be out in the market for sale by the last quarter of 2017. The pricing is expected to start around 44.000 thousand dollars for the Lexus RX 350 FWD, and $1.500 more for AWD variant. Prices of both options will vary for each trim and package. 2018 RX 450h price is still unknown.
