2018 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1

What do you feel when you for the first time look on the new 2018 Corvette ZR1? Definitely, you feel the power. This model looks very inspiring and attractive. According to numerous sources, the most recent model will hit the dealerships with an improved engine and that is very good news for all people who just adore this model.
As we know, this model is named after Zora Arkus Duntov (he was an engineer who joined the Corvette in 1955 and his primary obsession was speed and performance). We can conclude that this model is definitely designed to be the most dominant model in Corvette lineup. The engine of this model is located behind the driver and that is just one of the interesting facts. In the next review, we are going to take the first look on its exterior, interior, engine capabilities and of course its price and release date.

2018 Corvette ZR1 Exterior

The exterior design of the most recent model will be very appealing and its appearance is maybe the most elegant one among supercars. In order to improve performances and speed, the engineers will improve older C7’s aluminum chassis. The cockpit of this model will be moved forward in order to create an exclusive render. Everything from the outside is designed to improve the aerodynamics of the vehicle. The nose will sport the same shape and tapered edges but of course, we can expect some modifications here in sight of more aggressive cooling ducts, a wider track, and large front splitter.

The Corvette ZR1 2018 headlight will probably use the newest LED technology and its shape will be Y-shape. We can also expect a minimalistic drop in height, nothing too much notable. At the front fascia, we can notice larger vents located on the corners. We can also see huge rear diffuser as well as tiny dual spoilers over each rear fender. This model will use huge 20-inch alloy wheels fitted with high-quality tires. Also, according to some spy photos, we can see unpainted doors and that could also mean that Chevy is testing carbon-fiber elements. Certainly great news!

From the inside, the cabin of 2018 Corvette ZR1 will be definitely more modern and luxurious than before. We can anticipate high-quality materials inside such as carbon fiber, leather, and Alcantara. Also, there is going to be a lot of high tech features such as LED lighting and very large LCD. The steering wheel of this model will be multifunctional and it will contain gearbox shifter. This steering wheel will be very similar to those ones in Ferrari and Lamborghini models. The seats of this car will be better and more comfortable than before. The whole cabin will be “copy paste” of the the C7, but like the Z06, this model will be different, with unique styling. The infotainment system will be updated.

Engine and Performance

Engine capability is the segment where latest 2018 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is the best. It will use the same engine as ZO6 model but with a lot of improvements. It is a twin-turbo V-8 powerplant. The max power is unknown, but considering that the Corvette Z06 has 650 horsepower, the ZR1 will definitely hit the market with more than that, at least with 700 horsepower. The last model of ZR1 had 638 horses and this one will have around 60 horses more. Great! The future ZR1 will go from 0-60 mph or 0-100 km/h for estimated 2.8 seconds. The top speed is just amazing, 215 miles per hour! Porsche 911 Turbo and Ferrari 488 GTB will be its main rivals and we can expect great battle here.

Price and Release date

The release date of the latest model should be in early 2017. Its starting price will be around $150.000 and that is very good considering the fact that is cheaper than its main rivals.
