2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS caught on street

When it comes to quality, luxury, and classy sedans, Mercedes-Benz is unbeatable. Today, we will talk about the new sedan from Mercedes, and its name will be 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS. However, there are not too many information about the newly model, but we have some spy photos from the testing. This model was introduced for the first time back in 2012, and despite the fact that this vehicle is actually more closely related to the E-Class than the S-Class, its name will remain the same (some speculations suggest that we can expect the newly CLE name).

2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS Exterior design

We can just imagine how the exterior design of this model will look like. We have some spy photos from the testing, but on those photos, the vehicle is heavily camouflaged. Actually, thanks to the camo, the front side looks like some BMW model, because the shape of the camo is in the double kidney grille. However, don’t worry, this is Mercedes, and that is only the camo. According to some rumors, this model will be very similar to the latest E-Class, but if we look at our spy photos, we can clearly notice that the newly CLS will be wider and longer. This actually makes sense, because this vehicle is something between E-Class and S-Class.

When it comes to some specific details from the outside, everything about that is based on the assumption of various Internet portals, because we can’t see too many details from the spy shots. What we know for certain is that new Mercedes CLS 2019 will use familiar platform with the MRA design that currently sits on the E and C-Class. The front grille of this vehicle will be probably unchanged compared to the current model. Also, rumors suggest that the shape of the headlights remains the same. Thanks to the longer wheelbase, this model will provide more space inside. Also, according to some rumors, the Company won’t replace the Shooting Brake body style. According to spy photos, this model will have 5-spoke design aluminum wheels.

Mercedes CLS 2019 Interior design

Like the exterior, the new Mercedes CLS 2019 cabin is the question mark. What we know for certain is that we can expect a bit more space in the cabin compared to current model. That further means better comfort. Of course, all seats in the cabin should be covered with the leather. However, besides on the seats, we can expect leather on the door trims, steering wheels and almost on the entire dashboard. We can probably expect the addition of some new system, but unfortunately, we don’t have a list of the newly ones.

Engine and Performance

For the United States market, new 2019 Mercedes CLS will be most likely equipped with the new turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 engine. Above this engine, we can expect one stronger one and the word is about the Mercedes-AMG-developed twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine. The second engine will be most likely capable of generating up to more than 600 horsepower. So far, we only know that we can expect all-wheel drive system and a standard 9-speed automatic. Also, we can expect the plug-in hybrid capability as well.
