The A8 sedan was first introduced to the market by the German automaker, Audi, in 1994. The 2018 Audi A8 is a full-scale, four-door luxurious sedan, which is an adaptation of the current A8. The new model A8 is expected to come with the state-of-the-art options to address its long run contestants. Buyers can expect t new sedan with a hybrid system, as well. It is also expected to be a more performance-oriented vehicle than its predecessor is, as it comes equipped with a more powerful powertrain than that of the earlier A8.

2018 Audi A8 Exterior

The 2018 A8 is expected to be constructed on the same MLB Evo platform, similar to that of the current i8 and it comes with the same dimensions as those of the earlier model, as well. The body style of the sedan will utilize the much-superior products and its front fascia will receive a new upgrade. The vehicle comes with an elegant entrance, and its front part comes equipped with a redesigned grille and bumper with larger air vents. All light elements will be designed with the LED technology. Both front and rear bumpers come with the body color of the Audi A8 next generation and the exhaust pipes are designed to have a modern look. The sedan also comes with many chrome and stainless steel details. This time, the new i8 with being offered with three wheel options that range from 18 to 20 inches in their diameter. It is expected the vehicle will be offered with one or two body colors besides the available ones.

Audi A8 2018 Interior

This time, the cabin of the 2018 Audi A8 will be roomier than that of the earlier model. It is designed to offer a comfortable sitting place to a maximum of five people. All seats have been constructed with premium leather material to offer a luxurious to the cabin and a comfortable ride to the passengers. The cabin comes equipped with a leather-wrapped tilt and telescopic steering wheel as standard, but the airflow seats and heated seats will be offered as an option. Some of the other notable standard interior features include an instrument panel with a 14.1 inch screen, four-zone automatic temperature control, and a dual contact screen with the size of 8.4 inches and 14.1 inches, mounted center console, The cabin also comes equipped with MMI infotainment system of Audi as standard a head-up show as an option.

Engine

Audi has taken much effort to make its Audi A8 2018 to offer a more dynamic performance than the earlier model. As a result, the European version of the new A8 comes equipped with a more powerful V8 diesel powertrain to offer the vehicle more power and torque than those of the outgoing A8. The power unit has been finely tuned to offer a whopping power output of 400 ponies and the peak torque output of 500 lbs per foot. Audi has not yet revealed the performance figures of the powertrain of the new sedan, but as the engine is more powerful, it is expected that the new sedan will be faster than its predecessor.

On the other hand, the US version of new A8 would most likely be equipped with a V6, twin-turbo unit with the displacement of 3.0 liters as a base unit as standard and a V8, twin-turbo unit with the displacement of 4.0 liters as an option.
The new sedan will also be offered with a W-12 engine and a plug-in hybrid variant, as well, possibly with an all-electric alternative. It is expected that the overseas markets would get a four-cylinder alternative, as well.
All models of the new A8 will be offered with the Quattro all-wheel-drive system and an eight-velocity mechanical transmission as standard.

Date of release and price

The 2018 Audi A8 will be available for sale in Europe during early 2017 and in US, it will take some more time. However, the starting price of the new sedan is estimated to be $ 90,000.
