Honda is now increasingly facing competition in the US market. The CR-V crossover, which is one among the leading and the best selling models of Honda, could not survive long in the market that makes the automaker put an end to its production. There is the continuous fight for the market with domestic manufacturers in North America, and of late, German car manufacturers have entered the same market. By knowing this, Honda has decided to the redesigned version of the CR-V model for the next year with the name, 2018 Honda CR-V. However, the new model will not experience much change, meaning it will not be entirely redesigned. Furthermore, the Japanese automakers will always surprise buyers with innovative design and features, and the new model CR-V is no exception.
2018 Honda CR-V Changes
As usual, the 2018 CR-V comes with the trademark amazing external look. It will be constructed on an extended version platform, which was used in the tenth generation Honda Civic. The platform will be stiffer and lighter than other models in the lineup and it will be useful for the crossover performance. It comes with the redesigned front fascia, meaning the front part of the new vehicle comes equipped with a revamped front bumper, dashing pair of restyled LED headlights and new mist lights with LEDs. The grille is designed in such a way to offer the vehicle a compact, yet an aggressive front look.
The new SUV has not experienced any changes in its sides and it comes with the same dimensions as those of the previous model. Around back, it comes with a pair of redesigned taillights with LED bulbs and a revamped bumper.
The new model will get a new improved suspension, which will perk up its stability, handling, accuracy and agility.
Honda CR-V 2018 Interior
The cabin of the 2018 Honda CR-V should get more space than that of the outgoing model. The cabin will be partially redesigned and it will be equipped with the latest version of infotainment system and other most up-to-date gadgets. We can expect the new seat design that is upholstered in fine quality leather to offer it a luxurious look. In General, the new model CR-V will be an astonishing-looking vehicle, which will be both relaxed and enjoyable to drive.

The 2018 Honda CR-V will be equipped with the same engine used to power the Honda Civic. This means that the vehicle will be powered by a four-cylinder powertrain with the displacement of 1.5 liters. This power unit offered the power and twist of 174 HP and 163 lbs per foot respectively. However, the engine will be finely tuned to offer more power and torque outputs to the new CR-V. The engine will be mated the CVT system, borrowed from the Civic.
Excluding this, the European version of the new vehicle is also rumored to be powered by a diesel powertrain with the displacement of 1.6 liters, with the front-wheel drive system.
The new Honda CR-V 2018 US version of the new vehicle comes equipped with two new 3-cylinder and 4-cylinder turbocharged power units. The base power plant for the new model vehicle will probably be a VTEC turbo unit with the displacement of 1.5 liters to deliver the maximum power of 200 HP. The new vehicle will be equipped with a new double-clutch transmission system, which will perk up its performance and fuel economy.
Base price and the date of release
The 2018 Honda CR-V will be released for sale during late 2017 or early 2018 with the starting price of $24,645, which is somewhat closer to the price of the departing model.
